While the world is trying to be more inclusive and move beyond the centuries-old standards of beauty, trollers are stuck in an old loop. They leave no chance for body-shaming women, men or any other person because their meticulously small heads cannot grab the concept of different bodies with different shapes. Let’s see which Bollywood divas have been a victim of body shaming.

Harnaaz Sandhu

Miss Universe Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu recently walked the ramp as a showstopper in FDCI x Lakme Fashion for the designer duo Shivan & Narresh. While many of her fans loved her look, trollers went out of there to comment on her body.

They mocked her by calling her ‘moti’. However, the diva looked stunning in an orange gown with a plunging neckline. The halter neck had silver mesh detailing.

The fashion diva is a public figure and has been vocal about her choices. Once, Sonam Kapoor was called ‘flat’ in a bikini photo that she posted on her Instagram account.

The actress slammed the trollers by saying, “I know now that there’s nothing wrong with stretch marks, cellulite, or scars. They’re markers of our growth. There’s beauty in their realness. Flawlessness is a dangerous, high-budget myth, and it’s time we shattered it.”

Vidya Balan

The actress was once quoted saying, “My weight issue had become a national issue.” She was called a ‘fat girl’ and felt like her body had ‘betrayed her’. Sharing with Times of India, Vidya Balan said, “On the days I was under the pressure of looking my best, I would bloat up, and I would be so angry and frustrated.”

In an interview with the Indian Express, the actress said, “There is no end to rejecting your body and spending a lifetime doing that. But what really happens, it is not your body’s fault, your body needs at least one person on its side, and I said to myself that this is my body, and I love it.”

Priyanka Chopra Jonas

Priyanka Chopra Jonas has been trolled for many reasons, including her body, acting skills and choosing to welcome her baby girl via surrogacy. She shared in her book, Unfinished, that a director-producer asked her to get her jaw fixed, get a boob job and add a ‘little more cushioning’ to her butt.

The global star has shared her views several times on body shaming. On a podcast with Victoria Secret’s VS Voices, the actress said, “Every one of us will go through their ups and downs, but eventually, the sooner we start choosing ourselves, the better life becomes, when we get rid of the noise of what the expectation of someone else is.”

Neha Dhupia

The standards of beauty are quite persistent for women. Neha Dhupia was body-shamed for her weight post-delivery of her first child, Mehr. She slammed trollers and said, “I mean, you know literally what's your superpower that you just click six words and do like headline out of it or throw someone.”

On sharing her views on body shaming, she said, “It is the hardest, and it is tough enough what we do as moms. It's tough that you don’t wake up looking even half like this. You are in shambles. You are falling apart to come out even like I don’t even know between inside and outside 80 stitches, so be kind to this person.”

Slamming the trolls, she said, What is gross about stretch marks? Whenever I see those on my body, I smile… they remind me of my beautiful baby boy. Childbirth changes the body. Why should I have to hide my stretch marks or feel ashamed or apologetic? They are my medals of motherhood!”
