Even as people are melting over how sweet the father-daughter duo of Aamir Khan and Ira Khan looked together in a recent outing for a brunch, the latter has been trolled brutally yet again for her choice of clothes. Now, if thetrolls had their way then a fatwa would be issued against the poor girl and for what? Being comfortable in her skin and wearing something stylish? Who gives you the right to do that? How does it matter to your peace of mind?

Beware Of The Janta Judge Brigade

Ira Khan was wearing a stylish halter top and white denim shorts that suited her to the tee and is such a hip style for youngsters but trolls dragged religion into it and did not even spare Aamir Khan who was labelled a pervert for hugging his daughter in public and having a young wife.

It’s true that celebrities are always in the public eye but now it’s become our habit to comment less and less over their professional lives and more about everything else. The character assassination of women celebs takes place even more as they are judged for everything right from the colour of their skin, their weight, their lifestyle choices, what they wear, where they go, who they hang out with and who they chose not to interact with!

Suhana Was Trolled Too!

Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter Suhana Khan was another victim of shaming when she was trolled for posting a picture where trolls pointed out her that her T-shirt had a plunging neckline. She was labelled an attention seeker and people lost their shit because she posted a picture in a bikini (in a pool for God’s sake!).

When Trolls Reminded Janhavi About Her Jeans

Janhavi Kapoor was trolled for wearing a short dress as Twitterati and Instagrammers started pointing out that she forgot to wear jeans. The outfit in question was a cute summer dress that even made the girls go hawww over how short it was. It was only after brother Arjun Kapoor jumped in to shut up the trolls and the media houses that were talking about her dress with cheesy headlines that the furore died down.

What’s With The Brouhaha?

The funniest thing is that our constitution doesn’t stop us from wearing what we like but your nosy neighbourhood aunty or uncle and the faceless trolls will surely get their ‘dharam bhrasht’ over your skirt! While the sons may roam around wearing butt skimming jeans and a ganji, the daughters cannot do the same because – Sanskaar! It is just indigestible for a section of people to understand that every girl and every woman can wear whatever she looks good in, she will wear what she likes and she does not invite people to judge her for her looks. Even in today’s age, women are not just judged for their looks but are given a character certificate based on what they wear.

The best way to tackle such trolls is to name and shame them just the way they target celebrities and even common people like you and I. Because we will not tolerate this in the 21st Century. Because we have need to have a better outlook and teach our children about not infringing someone’s privacy.
