We love our 'subha ki chai' so much that we stock up different types of tea no matter what. It could be milk tea or green tea or black... well the variety is endless. We do know that tea can be used to for making face packs but did you know that it has 30 other uses as well which includes cleaning and gardening? Surprised? Well here is a list of things you can do with it and save money on things that you actually use for doing these chores.
Cleaning Carpets & Rugs
Those musty dirty carpets & rugs can be cleaned by using green tea leaves. Just spread them on the carpet and let them be for a while and then after 10 minutes vacuum them up.
Wooden Flooring
Yes, you can spruce up your wooden flooring with tea as well. The tannins present in black tea are very useful for this purpose. All you got to do is, rub the floor with love, with brewed tea and let it air dry.
Furniture
All you have to do is take a soft cloth and dip it in a small amount of tea, and then wipe down the tables, chairs and more.
Mirrors & Windows
You can get rid of stubborn fingerprints and stains from the glass with tea. You just have to rub a damp teabag on the glass or fill a spray bottle with brewed tea.
Toilet Stains
You can take tea bags and remove those stains in the bottom of the toilet bowl. Now here you have to leave them in the toilet overnight and then flush the toilet and brush the bowl.
Foul Smell In Fridge
Instead of using baking soda use tea bags in the fridge to absorb odours.
Room Fresheners & Potpourri
In herbal teas, it is all herbs and flowers and if you think they have expired or lost the flavour then they can be used as potpourri as the scent might still be there. You could even spray some aroma oil on them and leave them in a bowl to beautify as well.
Soothe Sunburns & Razor Burns
You can use wet teabags to soothe sunburns and other burns. For razor burn as well, all you need is a wet tea bag all over. For the entire body, you can soak yourself in a green tea bath.
Blisters
If you have blisters the hot tea bags work like a char. They even draw out the infections and it is said that the blisters go away over time.
Broken Nails
To save a partially broken fingernail, You can use the mesh tea bag and create a splint of sorts between the nail and the broken piece. Then to keep it intact, use a coat of nail polish.
Injection Pain
If you are scared of injections or your baby just got one then you can help soothe the area with a wet tea bag.
Mouthwash
You can cure toothaches and other mouth pain by mixing peppermint tea with a little salt in some water and squish them in your mouth for a few seconds.
Dry hair
The brewed tea is an excellent solution for conditioning dry hair. Rinse with tea and let them dry for a while, then rinse again with water.
Hair dye
When you brew tea, don't throw the leaves and instead use it to make a natural hair dye. All you have to do is mix rosemary and sage in some dark black tea and leave it aside overnight. Strain the mix and then work it into your hair.
De-stink feet
If your feet stink then soak them in strong tea for 20 minutes everyday. It will not just be relaxing but will also reduce feet odour.
Boil eggs
The Chinese are known to add tea leaves to the water after boiled eggs are cooked. What it does is that it adds little colour to it and gives a little flavour as well.
