Ingredients

  • 2 cups of wheat flour
  • 2 teaspoons of oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • Water as required

Instructions

  • For preparing the paratha dough, start by adding wheat flour and salt to a bowl and mix both the ingredients well.
  • Then, add water as required and knead the dough.
  • While kneading the dough, add 2 teaspoons of cooking oil and continue kneading.
  • Then, cover and rest the dough for about 15-20 minutes.

Curd Paratha

You must have savoured curd with parathas, but have you ever thought of adding the curd inside your parantha? Yes, you heard it right! Check out this recipe of curd paratha to get acquainted with the heavenly taste of dahi stuffing with paneer and potatoes.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups of curd or 1 cup of hung curd
  • 1 cup of grated paneer (cottage cheese)
  • 1 cup of boiled and mashed potatoes
  • 1 teaspoon of ginger paste
  • 1 green chilli (finely chopped)
  • 2 tablespoons of coriander (finely chopped)
  • 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon of red chilli powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of garam masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon of aamchur
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ajwain (carom seeds)
  • 1 teaspoon of kasuri methi
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • Cooking oil for roasting

Instructions

  • First, for the stuffing, take 1 cup of hung curd into a large bowl and add grated paneer, mashed potatoes, ginger paste, finely chopped green chilli, and chopped coriander.
  • After that, add chilli powder, turmeric, garam masala, cumin powder, ajwain, aamchur, kasuri methi, and salt.
  • Combine all the ingredients well and keep the mixture aside.
  • Now, for making the paratha, take a ball-sized wheat dough that we rested earlier and dust with some wheat flour.
  • Then, roll it in a circle and add dahi stuffing to the centre of the dough.
  • Start pleating the edges of the dough together and secure it tightly by sealing all the edges together.
  • Next, roll out the stuffed dough and place it on a hot tawa.
  • After cooking the paratha for a minute, flip it to cook the other side.
  • When the base is partly cooked, brush oil or ghee to the paratha and flip it again till both the sides are cooked properly.
  • Serve your curd paratha hot with raita or pickle.

Pizza-Style Paratha

Pizza-style paratha is a delicious Indian bread with Italian pizza flavour and gooey mozzarella cheese that your loved ones will enjoy to the core! You can give this paratha a whirl and let us know what you think.

Ingredients

  • 1 and 1/2 cup of grated mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup of pizza sauce
  • 2 tablespoons of onion (finely chopped)
  • 1/2 capsicum (finely chopped)
  • 4-5 olives (finely chopped)
  • 3-4 jalapeno (finely chopped)
  • 2 teaspoons of chilli flakes
  • 2 teaspoons of mixed herbs (oregano, basil, rosemary, thyme)
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • Cooking oil for roasting

Instructions

  • First, prepare the pizza stuffing by combining the grated mozzarella cheese, finely chopped onion, capsicum, olives, jalapenos, and salt in a large bowl.
  • Preheat a tawa on a medium flame.
  • As the tawa is heating, take a ball-sized dough and roll it. Also, dust some wheat flour so that the dough doesn’t stick.
  • Now, spread 2 teaspoons of pizza sauce on the flattened dough leaving the space from the sides.
  • Add the pizza stuffing that we prepared earlier with chilli flakes and mixed herbs to the centre of the dough.
  • Then, take the edges of the paratha together and secure them.
  • After lightly dusting the work surface with wheat flour, roll out the paratha.
  • Place the paratha onto the preheated tawa and cook for a minute
  • Then, flip the paratha and brush oil or ghee on both sides and wait till both the sides are cooked properly.
  • Remove the paratha from the tawa and serve piping hot with tomato ketchup.

Carrot Paratha

Just like curd and cheese, carrots don’t generally make an appearance in our usual parathas. But who knew that carrot paratha can make for a filling and yummy breakfast when served with curd, butter, or pickle.

This paratha won’t be your usual sweet paratha rather the spices used in this dish bring out the natural flavour of the humble carrot and make a great combination. Have a look at this recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of carrot (grated)
  • 2 tablespoons of cooking oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cumin powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon of garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon of coriander powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon of ajwain (carom seeds)
  • 1/2 teaspoon of red chilli powder
  • 1 tablespoon of coriander (finely chopped)
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt

Instructions

  • First, heat the cooking oil in a large pan, add ajwain, and temper for a few seconds.
  • Then, add the grated carrot and stir for 2-3 minutes.
  • After the grated carrot has lost a bit of its crunch, then add the spices - cumin powder, garam masala, coriander powder, red chilli powder, and salt. Mix the ingredients well.
  • Sprinkle a bit of water onto the mixture. Put the lid on and cook it until the carrots are soft.
  • Remove the lid and make sure that there is no moisture left of the carrots.
  • Then, add the coriander leaves and mix them. Keep the mixture aside.
  • Now, preheat a tawa on low to medium flame.
  • In the meantime, pinch a ball-sized amount of paratha dough and roll it after sprinkling some wheat flour on the work surface.
  • Add the carrot mixture to the centre of the paratha dough.
  • Bring the edges together and seal tightly.
  • Then, roll and flatten the paratha and place it on the preheated tawa.
  • After cooking the paratha for a minute, flip it to cook over the other side.
  • When the paratha base is partially cooked, brush oil or ghee to it.
  • Flip the parantha again once or twice till both sides are cooked properly.
  • Serve your carrot paratha hot with curd or pickle.
