Here’s a step-by-step recipe to make Dahi Bhindi at home:

Step 1: Take a bowl, and add curd, salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, and besan (gram flour). Whisk the ingredients together till smooth.
Step 2: Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds and dried red chillies. Saute for a few seconds.
Step 3: Add okra and saute on high flame. Now sprinkle salt and saute for 1-2 minutes. Cook for 2-3 minutes, sauteing occasionally.
Step 4: Add prepared curd mixture and mix well. Cook for 2-3 minutes and then take it off the pan.
Step 5: Transfer the dahi bhindi to a serving bowl and garnish with coriander leaves. Serve hot with naan or roti.

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup yoghurt (dahi)
  • Salt to taste
  • ¼ tsp turmeric powder
  • ½ tsp red chilli powder
  • 1½ tbsps Tata Sampann Fine Besan
  • 2 tsp oil
  • ¾ tsp cumin seeds
  • 2 dried red chillies
  • 20-25 ladyfingers (bhindi)
  • cut into 1 inch pieces
  • Freshly chopped coriander leaves for garnish

  • Step 1 :

    In a bowl, add yoghurt, salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, and Besan.

  • Step 2 :

    Whisk till smooth.

  • Step 3 :

    Heat oil in a wide pan, add cumin seeds and let them change colour.

  • Step 4 :

    Break and add dried red chillies and sauté for a few seconds.

  • Step 5 :

    Add okra and sauté on high heat.

  • Step 6 :

    Sprinkle salt and continue to sauté for 1-2 minutes.

  • Step 7 :

    Cook for 2-3 minutes, sautéing occasionally.

  • Step 8 :

    Add the prepared yoghurt mixture and mix well.

  • Step 9 :

    Cook for 2-3 minutes and take the pan off the heat.

  • Step 10 :

    Transfer the prepared dahi bhindi to a serving bowl and garnish with chopped coriander.
