Yellow moong dal cheela is one of the easiest, simplest, healthiest and most nutritious dishes that one can have. It is rich in nutrients that help to aid many common issues with the body like indigestion.
Moong dal is rich in iron and potassium. Hence, it offers protection from the cramping of muscles. It also keeps the blood pressure in check. It is loaded with fibres and vitamin B6. It boosts the production of red blood cells.
Method Of Preparation
- Soak a cup of yellow moong dal for a night or at least for 4 hours.
- Strain the water and grind the pulse into a thin paste.
- Add salt to taste, red chilli powder and asafoetida (hing).
- Add water to adjust the consistency of the batter. It must not be too thick or too runny.
- Put a flat pan on high heat and sprinkle some water to adjust its temperature.
- Take the batter in a spatula and spread it evenly on the surface in a circular motion.
- Add ghee or olive on the top and edges.
- Grate fresh paneer or cottage cheese on the top.
- Add chopped green chillies (optional).
- Add chopped coriander leaves.
- Fold the cheela into half once the back of the chilla turns brown or golden brown.
- Serve it hot with green chilli chutney, sauce or any other chutney of your choice.
