Ingredients

  • 1 cup grated jimikand or yam
  • 1/2 cup grated coconut
  • 1/4 cup roasted peanuts
  • 2 red chillies broken into pieces
  • 1 tsp saunf or fennel seeds
  • 1/2 tsp haldi
  • 1/2 cup besan
  • 1/4 cup chopped onions
  • 2 tbsp chopped curry leaves
  • 2 tbsp chopped dhania
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for deep fry

Step

  • Step 1 :

    All you have to do is mix the yam or suran or jimikand with red chillies, coconut, peanuts, saunf and haldi in a mixer and blend it all into a corse batter with half a cup of water in it to give it some consistency.

  • Step 2 :

    Now, take a deep bowl and mix in salt, besan, onion, curry leaves and coriander.

  • Step 3 :

    Heat oil in a non stick pan with heavy bottom and take a tabelspoon of the mixture and drop it into the hot oil. Don't aadd too many in one go and keep the flame on medium.

  • Step 4 :

    Once the fritters turn golden brown, put them on an abosrbant paper and then serve with a chutney and hot tea.
