One traditional sweet that is prepared on this occasion is Dhaniya Panjiri. This is easily available at sweet houses but nothing like preparing it at home. You can prepare this delicious prasad to offer to Lord Krishna this Janmashtami with this easy recipe. 

How To Make Dhaniya Panjiri?

  • In a pan, add ghee. 
  • Add coriander powder and roast till the colour changes. 
  • Add in nuts of choice. 
  • Add sugar to taste.
  • Sprinkle powdered coconut and cardamom to taste. 
  • Dhaniya panjiri is ready!

Ingredients

  • coriander seeds powder
  • sugar
  • desiccated coconut
  • makhane or foxnuts
  • almonds
  • raisins
  • melon seeds
  • cardamom powder
  • ghee

Step

  1. Step 1:

    Take a heavy bottom pan and add ghee.

  2. Step 2:

    Add coriander powder to the pan and roast for a few minutes. Keep cooking till you start getting the aroma.

  3. Step 3:

    Make sure you keep stirring the mix and don't let the coriander powder burn.

  4. Step 4:

    In another pan, toast dry nuts.

  5. Step 5:

    Take off flame and add all the other ingredients to it. Add nuts, coconut, sugar. Sprinkle cardamom powder.

  6. Step 6:

    Your panjiri is ready. You can garnish with some more dry fruits.
