Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Toor Dal
  • 1 Tbsp Ghee
  • 3 Cups Water
  • 1 1/4 Tsp Mustard Seeds
  • 1 1/4 Tsp Jeera
  • 2 Brpken Dry Red Chillies
  • Sprig Of Curry Leaves
  • 1 1/4 Tsp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • Pinch Of Hing
  • 1 Finely Chopped Oinion
  • 1 Slit Deseeded Green Chilli
  • 1 Tsp Turmeric
  • 3/4 Tsp Coriander Powder
  • 1 Finely Chopped Tomato
  • Salt As Per Taste
  • Garam Masala For Seasoning
  • Kasuri Methi For Seasoning
  • Coriander Leaves For Seasoning

Step

  • Step 1 :

    Wash the dal and pressure cook for 5 whistles.

  • Step 2 :

    Once it cools down, give a tadka in ghee of mustard seeds, jeera, red chillies, hing and curry leaves.

  • Step 3 :

    Saute onion and ginger garlic paste and then mix in the haldi, coriander powder.

  • Step 4 :

    Now, add in the tomato and cook well.

  • Step 5 :

    Once all done, add all the ingredients to the cooked dal and cook for 5 minutes with salt as per taste.

  • Step 6 :

    Before serving, garnish with garam masala, kasuri methi and coriander leaves.
