High-Protein Breakfast Recipe With Moong Daal

Moong Dal has a high nutritious value. It is rich in proteins, fibres and carbohydrates. It makes for the perfect ingredient to add to your breakfast recipe. It produces butyrate that maintains the health of the walls of the intestines.

Method Of Preparation

  • Take soaked moong dal and grind it into a fine paste.
  • Pour the paste into a bowl.
  • Add salt to taste, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, chopped green chillies, chopped onion, chopped tomato, chopped green capsicum and chopped carrot.
  • Add finely chopped coriander and mint leaves.
  • Mix everything and add half a tablespoon of ENO and a quarter teaspoon hing (asafoetida).
  • Add water to adjust the consistency.
  • Pour the mixture into a pan greased with oil or butter.
  • Cook it on one side until it turns golden brown, and flip it.
  • Cook it on the other side until it turns brown.
  • Cut the moonglet into four triangular pieces and serve with ketchup or your favourite chutney.

  • 1.5 Cups Overnight Soaked Moong Dal
  • 1 Chopped Medium Onion
  • 1 Chopped Carrot
  • Salt To Taste
  • 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil or Butter
  • 1 Chopped Green Capsicum
  • 1 Chopped Medium Tomato
  • 2 Chopped Green Chillies
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Red Chilli Powder
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Asafoetida
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1 Tablespoon Chopper Coriander Leaves
  • 1 Tablespoon Chopped Mint Leaves
  • 1 Tablespoon ENO
  • 1/2 Cup Water (If Required)

    Pour the mixture into a pan greased with oil.

    Cut the moonglet into four triangular pieces.

    Serve with ketchup or your favourite chutney.
