South Indian dishes have a very unique and distinct flavour that treats your taste buds in the best way. Right from rasam to dosa and to idli, sambhar, etc all dishes can be enjoyed with the classic coconut chutney. Therefore here's taking a look at the recipe for coconut chutney
- In a bowl, take 3/4 cups of coconut. Add about 1 1/2 to 2 tablespoons of gram or roasted peanuts.
- Further add 1/2 teaspoon cumin, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 2 green chilies, 1/8 inches ginger, and a handful of coriander leaves too.
- And pour some 1/4 cup of water. Then transfer to a blender to blend well.
- Taste the chutney for any missing ingredients and make the adjustments accordingly.
- Then in a pan, heat some oil, add 1/4 teaspoons of mustard, 1 broken red chili, and 1 pinch urad dal with 5-6 curry leaves. Once hot, add some hing to this and pour the tempering to your chutney and you're done.
