Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 Cup rice
  • 1 tsp oil
  • 400 gms cubed paneer
  • 1 sliced onion
  • 1/4 inch ginger
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1 green chilli
  • 2 Tbsp mint leaves
  • 1 Tbsp Coriander leaves
  • 1 Tomato
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric
  • 3/4 tsp Red chilli powder
  • 1/2 stick Cinnamon
  • 2 Cardamom
  • 3 Clove
  • Jeera - 1/2 tsp
  • 2 tsp Coriander seeds
  • 1 tsp Pepper corns
  • 1/2 tsp Jeera
  • 1/2 tsp Fennel seeds
  • 2 bay leaves
  • oil for cooking
  • 1 Cardamom
  • Cashews

Step

  • Step 1 :

    Wash and soak rice for atleast 30 minutes.

  • Step 2 :

    In a pan, add oil and saute paneer cubes. Take off flame as the cubes turn golden.

  • Step 3 :

    Now add all the spices, cook till the aroma arises. Turn off the flame and trasnfer the spices to a plate.

  • Step 4 :

    Add these spices to a grinder and mix till they turn into a powder.

  • Step 5 :

    Make ginger and garlic paste and keep aside.

  • Step 6 :

    In a pressure cooker, add oil and all the other spices - bay leaf, pepper corns, cinnamon, jeera and cashews.

  • Step 7 :

    Next add onions, ginger and garlic. Saute till they start to emit aroma.

  • Step 8 :

    Now add coriander and mint leaves. Also add tomato and mix.

  • Step 9 :

    Sprinkle the masalas - turmeric, chilli powder and mix.

  • Step 10 :

    Take a cup of water and add to the cooker. Mix well.

  • Step 11 :

    Now it is time top add paneer cubes to the mixture. Cook for one whistle. If you are cooking in a kadhai, cook on medium flame with a cover.

  • Step 12 :

    Take off flame and garnish with coriander leaves. Serve with chilled raita and chutney.
