With the heavy rains, we all feel like just sitting in our balconies and enjoying some hot snacks with tea and coffee. Tikki is one of the most loved snacks. This is chaat snack tastes so amazing, especially with some hot chai.

Independence Day and Rakshabandhan are just around the corner and if you have been thinking to prepare some snacks this week then prepare masala tikkis at home. Here is an easy recipe, with just a few ingredients you can prepare this hot and crispy snack at home.

Ingredients

  • 3-4 boiled potatoes
  • ½ tsp ginger paste or powder
  • 1/3 tsp garam masala powder
  • ½ red chilli powder
  • turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Finely chopped coriander leaves
  • 2-3 tsp of corn flour
  • 4-5 tsp of bread crumbs
  • Oil for frying
  • Chaat masala

Step

  • Step 1 :

    Boil potatoes, mash and keep aside.

  • Step 2 :

    In a bowl, add mashed potatoes, add ginger powder, coriander leaves, garam masala, chaat masala, salt, turmeric powder and mix it well.

  • Step 3 :

    Next add 2tsp of corn flour and bread crumbs. Bind the whole mixture to make a ball.

  • Step 4 :

    Now grease some oil on your fingers, make a round shape tikki.

  • Step 5 :

    Take a pan and add oil. Heat and fry the potato tikki, until they change their color to brown.

  • Step 6 :

    Serve hot tikki with mint chutney or tomato sauce.
