Homemade pizza is popular in India, making it one of the most tried recipes in Indian households. Moreover, there are several Indian variations also available. If you want to make classic homemade pizza at home then the below-listed recipe unveils some of the secrets that will make your pizza taste more authentic.
Pizza recipes are divided into three categories: Pizza base, Pizza sauces and Pizza toppings. All these three are equally important in bringing out the real taste of Pizza.
Step 1: Take a large bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in water and let it rest for 5 minutes.
Step 2: Add Oil and Salt in it.
Step 3: Now put flour, one cup at a time, until a soft dough is formed.
Step 4: Now knead the flour to make it smooth and elastic for 2 to 3 minutes.
Step 5: Put the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a muslin cloth and let it rest in a warm place for 45 minutes to rise.
Step 6: Meanwhile prepare the pizza toppings as per your choice of vegetables.
Step 7: Slice the veggies into small pieces and put them aside.
Step 1: Blend 4 to 5 tomatoes in a blender for Pizza sauce.
Step 2: Heat 1 1⁄2 tablespoon oil in a saucepan and add 2 finely chopped garlic cloves.
Step 3: Saute it until it starts releasing its aroma and then add 1 tablespoon of chilli flakes.
Step 4: Pour the tomato puree into the pan, ¼ teaspoon of salt and 1 teaspoon of sugar and stir well.
Step 5: Cover the pot and let it simmer for a while until the tomatoes are cooked and are reduced to a thick consistency.
Step 6: Once the consistency gets thick, add 1 teaspoon of Italian herbs and ½ teaspoon of crushed pepper. Mix it well.
Step 1: After 45 minutes, uncover the pizza dough and transfer it to the workspace.
Step 2: Punch and deflate the dough to remove the air bubbles.
Step 3: Divide it into parts as per the size of the pizza you want to make.
Step 4: Sprinkle some corn flour, and a few drops of oil and start flattening the dough evenly.
Step 5: Once you achieve the desired size, spread the pizza sauce evenly on the base.
Step 6: Grate the cheese and layer the veggies on top. Transfer the pizza to the oven and make it for 8 to 10 minutes.
Step 7: Add seasonings on top and serve it hot.
