Aloo Amritsari is a popular Punjabi dish made with deep-fried potato cubes cooked in a spicy, tangy tomato-based gravy. It’s a perfect dish to prepare for your wife. Here is the recipe of Aloo Amritsari that you can quickly prepare for your wife's special day.
How To Make Aloo Amritsari
1. First, in a blender, add onions, tomatoes, green chillies, ginger, garlic, and cumin seeds. Blend everything into a smooth paste.
2. Next, take a mixing bowl and add potato cubes, cornflour, salt, and red chilli powder. Mix it well till the potato cubes are coated properly.
3. Now, heat oil in a deep frying pan, and once it’s hot, add the potato cubes. Fry them well until they turn golden brown. Drain the excess oil using a tissue and set it aside.
4. In a separate pan, heat oil on medium flame and add the masala paste. Stir it well and cook it for 2-3 minutes. Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, and garam masala powder. Mix everything well and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
5. Once the masala has cooked well, add kasuri methi and water. Mix everything and bring it to a boil.
6. Add the fried potato cubes to the masala and mix them gently. Cover the pan with a lid and let it cook for 5-7 minutes.
7. Finally, garnish the dish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with roti or paratha.
