Ingredients

  • 1 cup Quinoa
  • 1 tsp Jaggery
  • ½ tsp cardamom powder
  • 2 cups whole milk/almond milk
  • ½ tsp condensed milk
  • 1 tsp ghee
  • ¼ tsp saffron
  • chopped nuts for garnishing

Step

  • Step 1 :

To prepare this sweet delight, start off by heating ghee in a saucepan. Once it gets hot enough, add quinoa to it and roast it till it becomes golden brown.

  • Step 2 :

Next, add 1 cup of hot water and bring it to boil. Once the water is reduced to half, add milk to it along with saffron strands and let it cook for 7-8 minutes on medium-low flame.

  • Step 3 :

After 7-8 minutes, add sugar and cardamom powder. Mix well and let it cook for another 2-3 minutes. You can also add more water, if you don’t want phirnee to be thick.

  • Step 4 :

Next, add condensed milk and mix well. Let it cook for about 3-4 minutes on low flame.

  • Step 5 :

Remove the pan from heat and serve the Quinoa Phirnee in individual bowls garnished with chopped assorted nuts.
