The wonderful combination of gram flour and spices that turn into a soft, juicy dhokla is just out of this world!

Instant Dhokla Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Besan
  • 1 tsp Lemon Juice
  • 2 tbsp Curd
  • 1 tbsp Green Chilli and Ginger Paste
  • 1 tsp Eno Fruit Salt
  • Pinch Of Turmeric
  • 1 tsp Oil
  • 2 cup Water
  • Salt to taste

For Tempering

  • 1 tbsp oil
  • Pinch of Hing
  • 1/2 tsp Black Mustard Seeds
  • 4 Green Chilli
  • 2 tbsp Coriander Leaves
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 tsp Sugar

 

 

Directions

  1. In a bowl, add besan or gram flour. Add water as required to make a thick paste. Keep mixing and ensure there are no lumps.
  2. Add lemon juice, salt, and curd to the mix. 
  3. Next, add green chilli and ginger paste to it. 
  4. Grease the dhokla stand. 
  5. Add 2-3 cups of water in the cooker and let it boil. 
  6. Add Eno fruit salt to the besan paste. 
  7. Add this besan mixture to the dhokla stand and put inside the cooker. 
  8. On low flame, let the dhokla cook inside the cooker. The cooker shouldn't whistle. 
  9. Let it cook for 20 minutes. 
  10. Using a fork or knife check if the dhokla is ready. If it comes out clean then your dhokla is ready. 
  11. Take the dhokla stand out and let it cool. 
  12. In a small pan, add oil, hing, green chilli for tempering.  Add 1 cup water and sugar and let it boil. Your tempering is ready. 
  13. Cut dhokla in cubes and add tempering on it. Garnish with coriander leaves. Your instant dhokla is ready!
