It also contains essential minerals like iron, calcium, and potassium. It is a crunchy, crispy, light, delicious ladoo perfect for the occasion of Lohri. Here's an easy Murmura Ladoo recipe you can follow:
How To Make Murmura Ladoo:
1. In a large pan, dry roast the puffed rice on low heat for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it becomes slightly crispy and fragrant. Be careful not to burn it.
2. In a separate pan, heat the ghee over medium heat. Add the jaggery and stir continuously for 5 minutes until it melts completely. You can grate the jaggery beforehand to speed up the melting process.
3. To check if the syrup is ready, take a small drop and drop it into a bowl of cold water. If the drop forms a soft ball, the syrup is ready. If it breaks apart, cook the syrup for a minute longer and check again.
4. Once the syrup is ready, turn off the heat and immediately add the roasted puffed rice to the pan. Stir gently but quickly to combine the puffed rice and jaggery syrup evenly.
5. Now, you can add cardamom powder for a touch of warmth and chopped nuts for extra texture and richness. Stir them gently.
6. While the mixture is still warm, quickly grease your hands with a little ghee and start shaping the mixture into small balls. If the mixture cools down too much, it will become difficult to form laddoos.
7. Allow the laddoos to cool completely before storing them in an airtight container.
Tips:
1. You can adjust the amount of jaggery to your taste. If you prefer your laddoos less sweet, use less jaggery.
2. For a richer flavor, you can roast the nuts along with the puffed rice.
3. If you want you can also add chopped nuts to these ladoos.
