How to make chicken soup
Ingredients:
- 3-pound whole chicken
- Carrots as per taste
- Celery as per taste
- Onions as per taste
- Seasonings: salt, pepper and chicken bouillon granules as per taste
Step-by-step recipe:
- Boil the chicken and vegetables till the meat is falling off the bone to make the stock.
- Remove the chicken from the stock and cut it into pieces by discarding the skin and bones.
- Strain the veggies and reserve the stock in another bowl. Cut the veggies into pieces and rinse the pot.
- Return all the ingredients into the pot. Heat the soup and put the seasonings to taste.
- If you want to turn this into chicken noodle soup, put some cooked noodles in the pot before serving.
How to store chicken soup
Let the chicken soup cool down and then transfer it into an airtight container. Store in the fridge for only three to four days, and then reheat thoroughly in the stove or microwave when you’re ready to have it again. You can also freeze the chicken soup for up to six months.
