Chocolate Lava Cake Recipe (Eggless Choco Lava Cake)
Here are some easy steps to make choco lava cake at home without eggs.
Pre-Baking Preparation
Begin by greasing 3 medium ramekins with oil and keep them aside. Simultaneously, preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius/395 degrees Fahrenheit for 15-20 minutes.
Preparing Dry Ingredients
- Place a large sieve on the rim of a dry bowl. Add ½ cup of whole wheat flour, a pinch of salt, 3 cups of cocoa powder and ¼ tsp of baking soda.
- Sift them in the bowl and put them aside.
Preparing Wet Ingredients
- Take another bowl and add ⅓ cup sugar and ½ cup cold water to it. Stir with a whisker till the sugar is fully dissolved.
- Next, add 2 tbsps oil to the solution and stir thoroughly.
- Now, ¼ tsp vanilla essence and ½ tbsp lemon juice or vinegar and mix well.
Chocolate Lava Cake Batter
- Add the wet ingredients mixture to the dry ingredients bowl and stir well with a whisker. Ensure that you do not over-mix it.
- Prepare a smooth batter with a medium-thin consistency.
- Now, pour the batter into the greased ramekins up to ⅔ of their volume.
- Add the chocolate cubes in the middle of the batter. Ensure that you use good-quality chocolate compounds instead of ready-to-eat chocolate bars.
- Lightly whisk the top of the batter to immerse the chocolate.
Baking Choco Lava Cake
- Keep the ramekins in the centre of the preheated oven, then bake them at 200 degrees Celsius for 30-40 minutes.
- Open the oven door only after the cakes are at least ⅔ cooked. Poke toothpicks in the sides to ensure they come out clean. If they do, it means they are done.
- After letting them cool for a few minutes, use a butter knife to loosen the edges of the cakes. Ensure not to poke the knife till the base.
- Now. invert the ramekins on a plate and gently tap the bottom to release them.
- Finally, sift some powdered sugar or cocoa powder through a sieve and serve it warm!
