- Add 3 tablespoons of tea leaves into steaming hot boiled water and let it rest until it cools completely.
- Meanwhile, prepare the sugar syrup by adding ½ cup of water and ½ cup of sugar to a saucepan and stirring vigorously.
- Let it heat on medium flame to boil and dissolve the sugar. Once done, keep the syrup aside to cook before pouring it into a vessel or jar.
- Boil about 4 cups of water in a pan, add ¾ cups of tapioca pearls, and stir them until they begin to float. Let it cook for 5 more minutes. Check one pearl to ensure it has turned soft; if not, let it cook for a little longer.
- Once done, remove the pearls from the hot water, pour them into a bowl, and rinse them with cold water.
- Keep them in another bowl and mix them with sugar syrup as required.
- Strain the cooled tea into a vessel. Meanwhile, add the tapioca pearls into a few glasses, depending on their quantity. After adding ice cubes to each glass, pour 1 cup of tea, 1 1/2 tablespoons of milk, and 1 1/2 tablespoons of sugar syrup.
- Stir and it adjust taste according to preference.
- Serve it chilled with boba straws which are large enough for the tapioca pearls to pass smoothly. If you don’t have these straws, use a spoon to eat them.
