One easy way of adding a healthy ingredient to your diet is by adding it to your roti or paratha. We usually have roti or paratha for lunch or dinner and if we can't add many greens or healthier ingredients to our diet then adding them to your atta is a good option. 

Here, we are back with a healthy recipe. This time, we tell you how you can add beetroot to your paratha. Beetroot is a healthy veggie. From helping you fight cancer to keeping your blood pressure in control, beetroot is great for your overall health. 

Preparing beetroot paratha is also a great way of making your kids consume beetroot. This paratha is not only healthy but it tastes delicious. You can serve it with curd or pickle and everyone will enjoy having these delicious parathas.

Ingredients

  • 2 beetroot peeled and grated
  • 2 cup whole wheat flour
  • Salt as per taste
  • Oil for cooking
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp carom seeds
  • Water to knead the dough
  • Coriander leaves
  • Boiled and mashed potatoes (optional)

Step

  1. Step 1:

    In a bowl, add whole wheat flour, salt, turmeric powder and chilli powder and mix well.

  2. Step 2:

    Next add some oil and add grated beetroot. You can also add boiled mashed potatoes to the mix if you want to make it a more filling paratha.

  3. Step 3:

    Using water in small amounts, prepare a soft dough. Make sure you don't add too much water. Cover the dough and keep for around 10 to 15 minutes.

  4. Step 4:

    Now divide the dough in small portions and start making parathas.

  5. Step 5:

    Using a rolling pin, make a paratha. Cook both sides, apply oil to make it golden brown.

  6. Step 6:

    Serve with pickle and curd.
