One way of making them consume beetroot is by preparing beetroot halwa. Prepared with beetroot, milk, sugar and lots of dry fruits, this halwa is easy to prepare and tastes delicious. You can prepare it for celebrations too. To make it more nutritious, you can add your choice of dry fruits.

Ingredients

  • 3 cup grated beetroot
  • 3 cup milk
  • 1 tbsp cardamom powder
  • 6 tbsp sugar
  • Ghee as required
  • Chopped cashew nuts
  • Chopped raisins
  • Chopped pistachios
  • Chopped almonds
  • Any other dry fruits of your choice

Step

  • Step 1 :

    Wash beetroots, peel them and then grate them. Make sure you grate it from the thicker side of the grater to get thick strands of beetroot.

  • Step 2 :

    In a kadhai, add ghee and saute all your dry fruits till light golden brown.

  • Step 3 :

    Take off flame and keep aside.

  • Step 4 :

    Now add grated beetroot to the same kadhai and saute.

  • Step 5 :

    Next add milk and mix. Sitr the mix occasionally till it starts to get thick.

  • Step 6 :

    Add sugar and let it melt. Keep stirring.

  • Step 7 :

    Sprinkle cardamom powder and mix again.

  • Step 8 :

    Add some ghee and all roasted dry fruits.

  • Step 9 :

    Turn off flame and serve.
