Anaar or pomegranate lassi is a smoothie made using curd or yogurt. It is full of anti-oxidants, has potent anti-cancer and immune supporting effects and more. Ingredients

  • ½ cup of pomegranate seeds
  • 1 cup of thick curd
  • Pinch of cardamom powder
  • 2 tablespoon honey or sugar
  • ½ teaspoon kewra essence or rose water
  • A few pistachios to garnish
  • A few pomegranate seeds to garnish

Method

  • Grind the pomegranate seeds in a mixer jar.
  • Sieve the juice to get rid of any crushed seeds.
  • Chop few pistachios and save rest for garnishing.
  • Now in a big mixer bowl add curd, pomegranate juice, pistachios, cardamom and honey.
  • Mix everything thoroughly with a whisk.
  • For this step you can also use hand blender, it makes blending easy.
  • Now you will see that froth has formed on the top of the lassi and that's the correct stage. Pour into individual glasses.
  • Garnish with crushed Pistachios and few pomegranate seeds.
  • Serve it chilled.

Ingredients

To Make For 6

  • 480ml pomegranate juice
  • 750 ml curd
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • Crushed ice
  • 2 tsp red chili powder, to garnish

Method

  • Using a blender and grind the pomegranate juice with the curd, honey, and crushed ice until smooth.
  • Pour the liquid into 6 glasses and sprinkle a little chilli powder on top of each.
  • Serve immediately.

While the chilli powder helps in balancing the sourness from the pomegranate and curd in this drink, cinnamon, fennel seeds too can be used as alternative garnishes.
