Aloo Paratha is the staple food in North India and an undisputed king of all the dhabas but we are bringing a twist to this classic dish!
Take a large-sized potato and cut it into four pieces.
Then, take a pan and add some water followed by adding the potato chunks. Let the potato boil on a high flame.
Once they are boiled, peel the skin of the potato pieces and grate them in a bowl.
After grating them, start mashing and kneading the grated potatoes with your hands.
Now, add red chilli flakes and turmeric powder followed by chopped onions, fresh coriander leaves, mustard oil, and salt as per your taste to the bowl.
Combine all the ingredients well. Keep the mixture aside.
Next, for preparing the dough, add 1 cup of wheat flour and 1 and 1/3 cup of water into a separate bowl. Whisk both the ingredients well.
Then, add the potato mixture that we prepared earlier to the liquid dough mix. Mix the ingredients well with a spatula and then, with a whisk till it turns into a smooth liquid mixture.
Now, for cooking the aloo paratha, heat the tawa or pan on medium heat and brush its surface with cooking oil.
Pour some batter into the pan and spread it evenly.
Once it starts to cook, turn it to cook evenly on both sides. You can also dab the paratha slightly with a spatula so that it cooks nicely.
When the paratha starts to rise, pour 1 teaspoon of oil on its sides and continue frying the paratha on both sides.
Finally, put some butter on your paratha and serve your delicious Aloo Paratha with curd or pickle.
