India’s wealthiest self-made female billionaire with her estimated wealth to the tune of $6.5 billion, after recent listings. She also has her name in the top 20 richest people of India. Her startup, Nykaa is one of the top beauty and retail companies.
10 Devita Saraf
Devita Saraf is the chairperson and CEO of the Vu Group, a new age technology conglomerate. At 24, she started the company and went from 0 to 65 crore in eight years. In the next four years, she went from 65 crores to 1,000 crores.
2 Ms. Saroja Yeramilli, CEO And Founder, Melorra
With an experience of 21 years, Ms. Saroja Yeramilli has built successful brands in India and USA. She is the one who transformed the brand Tanishq into an aspirational jewellery brand. After about 20 years of experience, she founded Melorra (one of the fastest growing fashion inspired jewellery brand) and is the CEO and founder of the same.
3 Meena Ganesh, MD And CEO, Portea Medical
Chief Executive Officer at GrowthStory, Meena Ganesh founded Portea Medical Private Limited in July, 2013. 5 Ms Bhavna Suresh, Co-Founder and CEO, 10club
She is currently the only women entrepreneur in the e-commerce roll-up business. Previously, she co-founded Lamudi and exited the firm after it was acquired by Dubai’s EPMG in 2020 and now is focused on creating great business success with 10Club.
6 Vandana Luthra, Founder, VLCC
Indian businesswoman, philanthropist and chairperson of Beauty & Wellness sector skill council, Vandana Luthra started her company, VLCC in 1989. She started it as a beauty and slimming service centre. Later, more services were added. For her phenomenal work, she was awarded Padma Shri in April, 2013.
7 Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, Founder, Biocon Limited
One of India’s wealthiest self-made woman entrepreneurs, she founded a biopharmaceutical firm in 1978. Her firm has entered the US biosimilars market and many investors are waiting in line. In 2019, Kiran Mazumdar was India’s 54th richest person and world’s 65th powerful woman.
8 Ritu Kumar
Indian fashion designer who started with making Indian bridal wear and evening clothes. After years of working, she entered the international market. In 2013, she was awarded Padma Shri by the government of India for phenomenal work in her field.
