It is important to keep a check on your dental routine to have strong and healthy teeth. A healthy dental routine includes a lot more than just picking the right toothpaste or toothbrush. Dr. Ekta Chaddha from Smile Studio shares how one can maintain a dental routine for strong and healthy teeth.

Choose The Right Toothpaste

All gel-based toothpaste can never give you that optimal level of cleaning. You must have noticed when you use your gel toothpaste on your brush, half of it flows out and only half of it remains on your brush which you will swallow. It is best to use a combination of gel and paint based toothpaste to get the maximum benefits.

Pick The Right Toothbrush

Make sure you pick a toothbrush which is right for your mouth opening. There are brushes that come with head sizes starting from 15 and they go upto 80. Your average brush size is about 40-degree head size. If you have a smaller mouth opening then use a smaller head size toothbrush. For a wide mouth, use a broader base toothbrush. Your brush and toothpaste are the most important factors for maintaining dental health.

Stay Away From Aerated Or Acid Drinks

Aerated drinks or acid drinks or even having a lemon on an empty stomach in the morning can ruin your teeth by damaging the enamel. If you still wish to have these drinks then make sure you drink these with a straw. For all these kind of drinks, you must use a straw.

Change Your Brush On Time

Most people buy a brush and they use it for a really long time. You must change your regular brush in every one and a half month. A battery operated brush must be changed after every three months. Change your brush if you had viral or cold.

Stop Eating Midnight Snacks

If you have a habit of munching snacks in the midnight then stop right there! Food will remain on the teeth and bacteria will easily act on it. Good oral hygiene and regular visits to the dentist will help you maintain healthy teeth and gums.
