Cannes 2019: Kangana Ranaut Spills Details of Her 'Unique' Red Carpet Look

Larger-than-life gowns or uber cool suits, what Bollywood divas will don at the 72nd Cannes Film Festival starting today has become the talk of the town. Kangana Ranaut, who will walk the Cannes Red Carpet and French Riviera for the second time this year, shared details of her wardrobe. According to a daily, the 32-year-old actress revealed that her team of stylists is currently working on a "unique" look for her.

Amid an intense shoot schedule for 'Panga', weight gain for the role, weight loss for the fittings, and endless hours of work, Kangana has been planning to wear a saree made up of the forgotten weaves and rich fabrics of India.

Divulging more, the 'Mental Hai Kya' actress said her team of stylists are working with the designer label Falguni Shane Peacock to create the saree of her dreams. "My stylist Ami Patel and I have been brainstorming for a few weeks. We, along with Falguni and Shane Peacock, are designing a unique saree. The idea is to bring the forgotten weaves to the fore so that the world is more aware of our rich fabrics and culture," Mid-Day quoted Kangana as saying.

Kangana, one of the most fashionable actors in the business, further said that she doesn't fuss for months about her red-carpet appearances. The actress said, "I was so busy with Panga. I had to gain almost 10 kilos for the film. During trials, I realised I have to lose some weight."

Kangana, who is representing a Grey Goose at the event, reveals that her clothes will reflect the theme 'Live Victoriously'. "The clothes I wear will have drama. At the same time, as an Indian actor on a global platform, I have the responsibility of endorsing our weavers and wearing outfits that reflect our rich cultural heritage," she added.

Citing theme ‘camp’ at the recently held Met Gala, Kangana said, "In 2012, I attended Rakesh Roshan's birthday party sporting a no-eyebrows look. So risque dressing has never been a deterrent. I was one of the first actresses to wear sarees to the airport. When I was seeing the MET Gala pictures, I thought that in India, the real queen of Camp would be Rekhaji. It's wonderful how Priyanka (Chopra) and Deepika (Padukone) are making their mark there."

Last year as well, Kangana opted for various bold and scintillating looks to make heads turn at the Cannes Film Festival. The actor had styled her retro look with a stunning 'aakash-tara' saree from the studious of Sabyasachi.

For her debut in the Cannes Red Carpet, Kangana was in embellished Zuhair Murd gown with a long train. On the second day, she sashayed down the red carpet in an embroidered cat-suit from the collections of Nedo By Nedret Taciroglu.

The Cannes Film Festival is scheduled from May 14 to May 25 and will also be attended by Cannes regular Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor and Deepika Padukone. Huma Qureshi and Diana Penty will be making their debut at the film festival this year.
