Whether you are getting temporary, semi-permanent, or permanent curls, you cannot just comb or brush curly hair frequently as you would do with straight hair. Also, you cannot just play around with your hair as much because maintaining curls needs discipline. Curls can only look and remain beautiful with patience. Apply good quality conditioner or mask after shampooing to improve porosity. After rinsing away the conditioner, apply a nice serum to hold the curls in place and also to provide the right level of protection in case you want to apply rollers or rod to shape your hair.

Temporary curling of hair can be achieved with a heating process involving tongs, curling rods or hot rollers. As for semi-permanent curls, whether they are spiral curls, Maggi noodle curls or beach waves, these can be created using soft chemicals to process them. Semi-permanent curling stays for 2 to 3 months. Then comes permanent curling which is done with stronger chemicals and gives a permanent curly shape to the length of your hair.
