The Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination 2024, will be held on June 16, 2024, at various exam centres all over the country. The preliminary examination will include two objective papers (multiple choice questions) and hold a maximum weightage of 400 marks in the subjects set out in sub-section (A) of Section II. The results will also be subject to negative marks for candidates’ wrong answers.

1056 vacancies are scheduled to be filled in the central services and departments through UPSC Civil Services 2024 examination. These vacancies include Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and the Indian Foreign Services (IFS). 40 out of the total vacancies are reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disability Category.

The UPSC Prelims examinations are held to shortlist the candidates for the Mains examination. The CSE Mains are divided into two parts, a written examination and a personality test interview round.
