By Air: The closest airport to the Valley of Flowers National Park is the Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun. From there you can hire a taxi or bus to reach Govindghat, the base point of the trek for the Valley of Flowers. The drive from Dehradun to Govindghat is approximately 10 to 12 hours, offering spectacular views of the Himalayas along the way.

By Train: The nearest station to Govindghat is Rishikesh from where you can take a taxi or bus to reach the basepoint.

By Road: Govindghat is well connected by roads to major cities in Uttarakhand such as Rishikesh, Dehradun, Haridwar and other nearby towns. On-road travel will offer breathtaking views of the Alaknanda river and lush green valleys which will leave your mouth hanging open.

The Valley Of Flowers Trek

From Govindghat, the base point, it's a 17 km trek to the Valley of Flowers National Park. The first leg of the trek is a 14-kilometre hike to Ghangaria, which is a base camp for visitors. From there, a further 3-kilometre trek leads you to the Valley of Flowers. The trek is moderately challenging but it all becomes worth it when you finally get to see spectacular views and serene surroundings.
