If you are not sure what to make for your Independence Day special lunch, then we have a simple recipe of tricolor pulao by Chef Madhur Bir. This recipe is super easy and quick to make. This will make your table look beautiful while giving you some patriotic vibes.

  • To make this recipe, first heat some oil in a pan and all the spices in it.
  • Then, add onion and ginger garlic paste along with salt, red chilli powder, garam masala powder and biryani powder.
  • Now, add curd and rice after a few minutes.
  • Add water and let it cook till 1 whistle.
  • Now, divide the cooked rice into 3 parts. Mix one part with tomato puree and carrot and one part with spinach puree.
  • Your tricolor rice is now ready to be served.

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Rice
  • 1 Tsp Cumin Seeds
  • Big And Small Cardamom
  • Cinnamon Stick
  • 2 Bay Leaf
  • 4-5 Cloves
  • 2 Onions (Chopped)
  • Salt
  • Red Chilli Powder
  • Garam Masala Powder
  • Biryani Masala
  • 1 Tsp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1 Tsp Curd
  • 2 Cups Water
  • Tomato Puree
  • 1 Carrot (Grated)
  • Spinach Puree

Step

  1. Step 1:

    Heat some oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds and whole spices in it.

  2. Step 2:

    Add onion and ginger garlic paste. Let it cook till the onions turn golden brown.

  3. Step 3:

    Add salt, red chilli powder, garam masala powder and biryani powder. Mix it well.

  4. Step 4:

    Add curd to it and mix it for 2 – 3 minutes.

  5. Step 5:

    Now, add rice and again mix it for 2 – 3 minutes.

  6. Step 6:

    Add water and let it cook till 1 whistle.

  7. Step 7:

    Now, divide the rice in 3 parts.

  8. Step 8:

    Heat some oil and add grated carrot. Let it cook for 2 minutes and then add tomato puree.

  9. Step 9:

    After a few minutes, add one portion of rice in it.

  10. Step 10:

    Heat some oil in another pan and add spinach puree.

  11. Step 11:

    After a few minutes, add one portion of rice in it.

  12. Step 12:

    Now, set it like our Indian flag and your tricolor pulao is now ready to be served.
