According to the latest report by Henley Passport Index, Singapore has surpassed Japan as the country with the most powerful passport, granting visa-free access to 192 nations around the globe. The International Air Transport Authority, or IATA, provided statistics on which the ranking of the world's passports for 2023 was based. IATA rates passports according to the number of places its holders can travel without a prior visa.
According to the list released by Henley & Partners, Japan, which had topped the list for five years, slid to third position as the number of destinations its passport can access without a visa fell.

The Singapore Passport is now the world’s most powerful passport, replacing Japan. Japan, which held the top rank for the previous five years and has visa-free travel to 189 countries worldwide, fell to third. Austria, Finland, France, Luxembourg, South Korea, and Sweden are also in the same position with access to 189 destinations without a prior visa.
India’s Ranking In Henley Passport Index
India went up five ranks in the Henley Passport Index from the previous year, showcasing a major improvement. It also has Senegal and Togo at the 80th position along with India. As a result of India's improved international travel rights, the Indian passport holders now enjoy visa-free access to 57 countries.

Lowest Ranking In Henley Passport Index
Afghanistan is ranked 103rd in the list, and citizens of that country can travel to only 27 countries without a visa.
