Prime Minister Narendra Modi will soon visit Assam, where he will also take a tour of the Kaziranga National Park, one of India's most renowned wildlife sanctuaries. The Prime Minister's trip to this iconic park not only enhanced the government's commitment to conservation efforts but also highlighted the rich biodiversity and cultural heritage of the region. He plans to visit the national park on March 8-9, 2024. His arrival at the park is anticipated for the evening of March 8, 2024, where he will stay overnight.

On March 8, 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a visit to Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve in Assam, known as the rhino hub, to immerse himself in wildlife adventures amidst the natural splendour. He will partake in jungle safaris alongside trained officials, enhancing his connection with the wilderness.

Designated as a national park in February 1974, Kaziranga is set to commemorate its Golden Jubilee this year. On March 9, 2024, PM Modi plans to inaugurate a magnificent bronze statue honouring the renowned Ahom general Lachit Barphukan, standing tall at 125 feet, in Jorhat.

Located in the northeastern state of Assam, Kaziranga National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to the largest population of the Indian one-horned rhinoceros in the world. It is spread across the floodplains of the Brahmaputra River, the park also boasts a diverse range of wildlife, including tigers, elephants, wild water buffalo, and various bird species. It is located in parts of Golaghat, Nagaon and Sonitpur districts of Assam, as per the Assam Forest Department.

As per the UNESCO World Heritage Centre, “It is inhabited by the world's largest population of one-horned rhinoceroses, as well as many mammals, including tigers, elephants, panthers and bears, and thousands of birds.”

By Train: The nearest railway station to Kaziranga Park is Furkating which is 75 km away from the park. The station is well-connected to other major railway stations.

By Air: The park is closest to Guwahati International Airport, 217 km away, and Jorhat Airport, which is 97 km away.
