With the onset of the Winter Season and holidays coming up, we all look for a different place to visit especially on foreign shores. Here are some places that you could visit as the weather here is very pleasant and these countries are pocket-friendly as well.
Vietnam

This country is cheap and beautiful! Do you want peace? Goto any corner. Are you looking for History? We all know the country's past. You want a food trip? Yes this country has lots to offer especially sea food. The culinary capital of Vietnam, Hanoi is far enough north that you'll actually need to pack a jacket with you if you include it on your itinerary. But it's definitely worth it. The cuisine of the whole country combines traditional Asian with French.
For accommodation, you can find nice hotels with good locations at very very cheap prices (This country is like a dollar store. So nothing can be expensive here). Many people also include a short cruise on the nearby Halong Bay, which is an amazing bargain. Some parts of Vietnam's central coast are still rainy in December, but still many people take the train between Hanoi and Saigon and make a few stops along the way. Ho Chi Minh City, officially known as Saigon is worth a visit.
Cambodia
If you are coming to southeast Asia it would be wise to plan a shortstop in Siem Reap to see the famous Angkor Wat temple complex and then head to Phnom Penh. However, surprisingly this capital of Cambodia does not have much to do if you like seeing things around. We suggest you also do a bit of exploring and visit offbeat destinations in this country like:
Banteay Chhmar
This location is the country's best-kept secret! It is really huge but is a hidden temple complex two hours from Siem Reap. However, this place has no accommodation or wifi sources for that matter.
Koh Rong Samloem
Bring out your hammocks, place it between the coconut palm trees here and sip on some chilled Angkor beer while the sunset soothes your eyes. This place is a paradise that is yet untouched by tourists!
Kep
Located in the far south of Cambodia, this place is surrounded by sprawling salt fields and pepper plantations run by families. This place we say is for the ones who just want peace, sleep and relaxation. By the way, the seafood you will get here will be fresh so your food is also sorted. This place also has a Kep National Park.
Philippines

The Philippines is a Southeast Asian country in the Western Pacific, comprising more than 7,000 islands. Its capital, Manila, is famous for its waterfront promenade and centuries-old Chinatown, Binondo. Intramuros, a walled city in colonial times, is the heart of Old Manila. It’s home to the baroque 17th-century San Agustin Church as well as Fort Santiago, a storied citadel and military prison.
You can enjoy hiking here in the North of Manila, at the Cordillera Central Mountains. For landscapes, check out the Ifugao province as it is famous for the rice terraces. Want to hang out on a beach? Go to the remote Palawan province and its offshore Calamian Islands. Here you will see palm-fringed beaches and turquoise lakes, plus coral reef diving. Cebu island is another celebrated diving destination. The tiny island of Boracay offers upscale beachfront resorts and a range of water sports. Sports actvities like whitewater rafting and zip-lining are available throughout the country.
Myanmar

Formerly known as Burma, Myanmar is a Southeast Asian nation with more than 100 ethnic groups, bordering India, Bangladesh, China, Laos and Thailand. Yangon (formerly Rangoon), is the country's largest city. It is home to bustling markets, numerous parks and lakes, and the towering, gilded Shwedagon Pagoda, which contains Buddhist relics and dates to the 6th century.
This country has numerous important Buddhist sites including the ancient city of Bagan, which is studded with more than 2,000 temples and pagodas, and Kyaiktiyo Pagoda, perched atop a rock at the edge of a steep hillside. Cruises along Burma’s Irrawaddy River covers historic landmarks, like the 19th-century Mandalay Palace, and rural scenery. Visitors in motorboats and fishermen propelling skiffs cross Inle Lake, which is lined with villages on stilts and colourful markets. Along Burma's Bay of Bengal coast, Ngapali is a palm-lined, upscale beach resort area.
Thailand

This country has a number of places to visit. Here, Bangkok is literally the hottest capital city in the world, but December is its most pleasant month so it's the best time to come if you can make it. Here you can get a quality 4-star hotel room in a nice area here for what you'd pay for a 2-star room in most of Europe. The food is also cheap and really good.
Phuket is the largest and most famous of Thailand's many islands. This place has its own large airport so you can fly in from many places without having to change planes in Bangkok.
If you are looking for a great nightlife or a shopping overload you probably want to stay in or near Patong Beach, which is the largest of the beach towns on the island. If you aren't so interested in those things you should stay anywhere else, visit Karon and Kata as they are more family oriented beach areas.
Maldives
The Maldives is a tropical nation in the Indian Ocean composed of 26 ring-shaped atolls, which are made up of more than 1,000 coral islands. It’s known for its beaches, blue lagoons and extensive reefs. The capital, Malé, has a busy fish market, restaurants and shops on the main road, Majeedhee Magu, and 17th-century Hukuru Miskiy, which is also known as Friday Mosque, is made of carved white coral.
Here you can enjoy some snorkelling and dive as the water is warm and has high visibility and diverse marine life, including manta rays and spotted whale sharks, which can grow to 12m long. Other popular water activities include swimming, surfing, sea kayaking and jet-skiing. Travel by boat or seaplane is common on inter-island trips from Malé to uninhabited islands or small fishing villages, many of which offer guesthouses or homestays.

Sri Lanka
The dry season in Colombo and most of the rest of Sri Lanka usually starts early in December, but after that, the weather is wonderful until late April. Colombo is the capital of Sri Lanka, but we recommend that you visit other cities too like Bentota, Sigiriya, Yala National Park, Kandy and Adam's Peak.
This country is famous for its ancient Buddhist ruins, in the 5th-century citadel Sigiriya, with its palace and frescoes. The city of Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka's ancient capital, has many ruins dating back more than 2,000 years. Sri Lanka has a lot to offer including the newly discovered school of whales which is a lifetime experience.
