Ayodhya is all decked up for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit on December 30, 2023, as he inaugurates the Maharishi Valmiki International Airport. The Ayodhya airport has been named after the poet Maharishi Valmiki. PM Modi wanted to construct modern airports and railway stations, according to Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia.
The Maharishi Valmiki International Airport in Ayodhya combines modern passenger amenities with decor inspired by the life of Lord Ram. Flight Details:
On December 30, IndiGo and Air India Express will launch their first flights to the airport. Beginning on January 15, 2024, IndiGo will operate daily flights between Mumbai and Ayodhya.
Also from December 30, 2023, Air India Express will begin flying between Ayodhya and Delhi. Following this, on January 17, 2024, the airline would begin operating direct flights from two major cities, Bengaluru and Kolkata, to Ayodhya.
The first flight for travellers from Bengaluru is scheduled to take off on January 17, 2024.

Cost Of Ayodhya Airport Is Over ₹1400 Crore
Different reports have quoted different prices at which the construction of the airport in Ayodhya has taken place. According to some reports, the price quoted for the airport is around ₹1450 crores, while another says that it was constructed for ₹1500 crores.
Concept Of Airport Reflects The Spirit Of Ram Mandir

Keeping the construction of the Ram Mandir and the importance of Ramayana as a Hindu epic and literature, the Ayodhya Airport is built to reflect the spirit. Anyone flying to the city should instantly be hit by positivity and spirituality.

According to legends, when Sita was living away from Rama, she was under the shelter of Maharishi Valmiki who taught the entire Ramayana to Lava and Kusha (twins of Lord Rama and Goddess Sita).

Ayodhya Airport Spans Over 6,500 sq. Metres

The entire airport is built over 6,500 sq. m. of land, which is big enough to contain 600 peak-hour passengers. Its capacity for handling annual travellers is 10 lakh.
According to India Today, the airport will soon shift to its second phase in which a new terminal will be built over 50,000 sq. m. of land. It will accommodate 60 lakh passengers annually and 3,000 during peak hours.
This airport will be inaugurated on December 30, 2023. According to the Hindustan Times, PM Modi will be visiting. He will inaugurate multiple projects worth ₹11,100 crore, including the Ayodhya Railway Station and Airport. He will show a green signal to six new Vande Bharat and two Amrit Bharat trains, improving the connectivity of the city with the rest of the country.

According to a statement by the Government of India, "The Prime Minister’s vision is to develop modern world-class infrastructure in Ayodhya, improve connectivity and revamp its civic facilities while also conforming to the rich history and heritage of the city."
