National Ice Cream Day is celebrated on the third Sunday of July. It was started in the USA and was signed into public law by President Ronald Reagan on July 9, 1984. Post that, the popularity of ice cream day spread to other countries and the whole world started celebrating it.

Though no one knows the exact year of origin of ice cream, some speculate that it was invented in the Achaemenid Empire in about 500BC. People belonging to the Persian Empire too used to make ice cream by putting snow in a bowl and pouring grape juice over it.
