"Meri Desh Ki Dharti Sona Ugle" literally in Sonbhadra district of Uttar Pradesh! The Geological Survey Of India discovered that the district has a gold mine with 2900 tonnes as in2630836 kg of gold which is five times the size of India's current gold reserve.
The estimated worth of that gold is a mind boggling number and that is Rs 12 Lakh Crore!
The deposits of this yellow metal were found in Son Pahadi and Hardi. The work on the mine fields had been on since 1992-1993 by GSI.
Now if the estimated worth is true, then India's gold reserve will now be just behing US, jumping to second number. The positioning sp far is that the United Statees has 8, 133.5 tonnes of gold, next is Germany with 3366 tonnes, IMF with 2814 tones, Italy with 2451.8 tonnes and France with 2,436 tonnes.
Sonbhadra is the second largest district in Uttar Pradesh. It is known for many cave painting sites found in the Vindhya region. The caves are known as the Lakhania which are located in the Kaimur Range. They are also well known for beautiful ageless rock paintings.
