Today, we will talk about a beach and an adjacent lake in Goa where not many people had the chance to visit. The fact that not many have heard of this lesser-known beach, Arambol, makes it a must-visit. It is at the end of the North Goa and from there on starts South Goa. Even those visiting Arambol are unaware that a part of it is overcrowded, but there is a part which is hidden and where a sweet water pond resides blissfully, also called Sweet Lake by the locals.

About The Beach

Arambrol is a fishermen’s village and hence, the routes leading to Sweet lake were also paved. There are two parts of the beach and it is only when you’ll reach the place, you’ll get to see the second part. The path to it passes through stones but at the same time has a very beautiful view. After reaching there, it seems that beaches like Candolim and Bagha fail to match its beauty.

The water at Sweet Lake is obviously sweet, and hence the name, but it also pleases the people visiting here. The water is quite clean and the place is often frequented by foreign tourists. Ahead of this beach, you can also find a forest.

A Sunset Like No Other

While visiting Arambol you should definitely plan to stay back until sunset. The sunset here is really beautiful and since the place is a bit secluded one, you can enjoy it comfortably lying on the sand, keeping all your worries at bay. The place is, however, earning gradual popularity but the crowd still remains numbered unlike other beaches of North Goa.

Planning For A Stay

If you want to stay here then there are the hotels and beach huts that are easily available. These huts are much cheaper than those available in Bagha and other beaches in North Goa. A hut might cost you anywhere between 500-1000 rupees and the sea is only at a distance of a minutes walk, wherein you can feel a calming effect whilst enjoying the waves.

The most unique thing about this place is that most of the shambles and beach hotels are run by people from Himachal or Uttarakhand, therefore, you won’t feel strange while leaving North India.

Things To Keep In Mind

You can surely get a cheap hut here but it doesn’t mean that it is safe to stay here. Do not forget that you are in the middle of a village which is about 43 km from Panaji. It can surely be a part of your trip, but staying here won't sound like a great option. If you visit this beach then keep in mind that there are not much security arrangements around, hence you are pretty much on your own. Though people here are quite helpful and comes across as good to have around, it is still advisable to abort any plans of staying here because of the heavy dose of isolation that the area comes with.
