The year 2022 saw amazing haircuts from the spring filled with ‘butterfly’ cuts to the summer of ‘bobs’. As we moved into the fall, haircuts took inspiration from alphabets with the U-shape haircut blowing up on Instagram and TikTok. With 2023 here, we can expect a multitude of new haircuts. Here is all the haircut inspo you need this year.
The Curve Cut
Long hair never goes out of style, but haircuts are getting shorter. So this haircut is a mix of the two. The ‘curve’ is an excellent option for letting your hair grow out, while still maintaining an interesting look. It is achieved by cutting the hair in ‘U’ or ‘V’ shape with layered cuts. This will give an illusion of shorter hair at the front and give an edge to your look.
The J-ob

Bobs are an evergreen favourite, but what changes every season is the length. This year the best length to have is till the jaw, hence the word j-ob (jaw-length bob). The great thing about this bob is that it varies in shape and texture, celebrating everyone’s natural hair. They can be centre-parted, curled, tousled, wavy or any style one desires.
The Shaggy Bowl

The ‘70s is one of the most fashionable decades, and each year we see a contemporary twist to this retro style. In 2023, we expect to view more modern spins to the classic bowl cut. The bowl cut will be mixed with a more shaggy look this year with slightly rounded and softer dimensions. This will add movement and volume to the hair.

Modern Mod

The SS23 runway fashion shows saw the ‘60s mod cut. However, the 2023 spin to it will give the outline of the haircut softer edges and a textured layer throughout the top section, making it more edgy. It can be worn in multiple ways– to the side or in a slicked back fashion. This is a level-up from the mullet, which saw a comeback last year.
Connecting Layers
This haircut is so expertly layered that it looks like the hair is joined up at the ends. The C-shape haircut with some face-framing strands and a quick blow-dry will elevate the look. However, you can even let your hair down naturally using some hair gel to embrace the real texture of your hair. A look like this is as chic as it gets.
