Our skin is the exposed part of the body and thus is majorly impacted by the season change. As the weather changes from colder winter months to warmer spring temperatures, our skin's needs also evolve. The skin may require lighter moisturisers, increased sun protection, and gentle exfoliation to remove dead skin cells accumulated during winter. Adjusting skincare routines to accommodate these changing needs is essential for maintaining healthy and radiant skin throughout the spring season. In light of the same, we spoke to Ms Yukta Raghu, CEO and co-founder of Afforest Green Beauty and Dr BL Jangid, Dermatologist, Hair Transplant Surgeon and Founder of SkinQure Clinic, Saket New Delhi for their inputs on skincare trends for the spring season. Read on to learn about the beauty products that you should have in your vanity.
Ms Yukta said, “Depending on your location, spring may bring fluctuations in humidity levels. As the weather warms up, humidity may increase, leading to more moisture in the air. However, in some regions, springtime can also be dry, especially as winter transitions to spring. Changes in humidity levels can affect skin hydration and moisture balance, potentially leading to dryness or excess oiliness.”
Always Use Sunscreen
The exposure to bright sunlight increases during spring and thus the need for sunscreen increases. You should use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher daily, and reapply every two hours when outdoors for better protection.
Vitamin C And E Serums
Within the routine, incorporate skincare products containing antioxidants like vitamins C and E. These antioxidants help neutralise free radicals generated by UV exposure, preventing damage to the skin's collagen and elastin fibres.
Always Moisturise
Always try to keep your skin hydrated by using moisturisers containing hydrating ingredients like hyaluronic acid, glycerine, or ceramides.
Apply Eye Cream
Incorporate an eye cream into your skincare routine. Look for eye creams containing ingredients like peptides or caffeine to help improve skin elasticity and reduce puffiness.

Use Masks And Scrubs
Using hydrating masks that contain ingredients like aloe vera or honey, exfoliating scrubs (diy natural scrubs for glowing skin) and cleansers containing ceramides would help your skin stay alright throughout the season.
Use A Cleanser
To give your skin (facial hacks for skin) a thorough cleaning free of sweat and pollutants use a foam or gel based cleanser without salicylic acid twice a day.
Along with all these skincare routines, maintain a healthy lifestyle by eating a balanced diet, staying hydrated, getting enough sleep, and managing stress. These lifestyle factors can significantly impact the health and appearance of your skin over time.
