Wondering what to do with old makeup? Repurpose your expired cosmetics to use them again or find new uses for them with these hacks to reuse expired makeup products or cosmetics that you no longer find interesting.
Recycle Old Eyeshadow
So you bought an entire eyeshadow palette thinking that you will try out a new look every day. But that doesn’t happen, does it? So you are left with an almost unused palette full of different colours that stares right back at you every time you open that makeup drawer. Take out the powder eyeshadow from its container and add it to a bottle of clear nail polish. Voila! Apply the eye shadow nail polish and all eyes will be on your nails for sure. This is a great idea for all those glittery eyeshadows that you may have applied just once for experimentation. Also, if you have a broken eye shadow then you can mix it with some Vaseline or your favourite moisturiser to be used as a tinted lip balm.
How To Recycle Lipstick
Okay so you may have been bored of using the same lip shade again and again so all those lipsticks stay in your makeup box till they are almost past their expiry dates. You don’t feel like applying them but you won’t throw them away. Then what to do? Just break the lipstick apart and melt it over a candle flame. Put the melted lipstick inside an eyeshadow plate and let it cool down. Yay! Now you have a new shade of eye shadow that you can use for the next few months. If your lip stick is in a lighter shade of pink, red or orange, you can also use it as a rouge for your cheeks. Just dab a little on both your cheeks and blend in just the way you would normally when applying a face rouge or blush. You can also apply the liquid lipstick on your nails and cover it with a clear top coat. If you ended up buying a lot of lip sticks or got a bunch of them as gifts then also try mixing and matching the colours to come up with new shades.

How To Revive Eyeliner
So you’ve bought your favourite eyeliner and it’s oh-so amazing – until it starts to dry out real fast! Well, there’s no need to panic as you can totally revive it to use it again and again until the bottle/pen gets finished for sure. No matter what kind of eyeliner you are using a gel eyeliner, cream eye liner, liquid eyeliner or pencil eyeliner, you can reuse it easily with these hacks. To revive or reuse a dried out pot of eyeliner, just put a few drops of coconut oil in the container and mix it a bit with your eyeliner brush. Let it sit for a while and now you can use it easily. As for cream eye liner, just add few drops of moisturiser to do the trick. For a liquid liner, add alcohol-based makeup remover and also clean the applicator with contact lens solution. For a pencil liner, just try melting the stick with a hair dryer. It works!
Reuse Foundation
We all have done this mistake once in our lives. Bought a foundation that was either too dark or too light for our skin tone. Maybe we fell for a brand or shopped for makeup in a jiffy or went crazy after a last minute sale deal online. For all these problems and more, you can always reuse your foundation by applying it on other parts of your body apart from the face and neck. Just mix it with a moisturiser to give an even look to your hands, back and legs to flaunt them in that low-cut blouse or that short dress. If the foundation is a shade darker than your skin tone then you can always use it for contouring as well.
