Since the festive season is just around the corner and we are all extremely excited to deck up in our best clothes and put on makeup. The most important aspect of our makeup is our eyes, especially with masks.
Therefore, our eye makeup should be on point. However, applying eye shadow is a tricky business. There are plenty of things that can go wrong. So, you should follow these do's and don'ts for a flawless makeup look.
DO Use A Primer
Priming your lids before applying eyeshadow is really important. It will not only increase the intensity of the shadow pigment but will also ensure that your shadow is creaseless and stays for a long time.
You can either go for a specialised eye primer or a regular primer or concealer can also do the trick and give you a steady base for eyeshadow application.
DON'T Use Shimmer As A Transition Shade
The purpose of a transition shade is to perfectly blend the colours that you are using for the eye makeup. However, using shimmer for this will entirely defeat the purpose. This is because it will not blend the powders properly as well as reflect light and look stark.
Instead of this, opt for matte shade that is darker than your skin tone. This will create a gorgeous transition.
DO Create Dimension
If you want your eye makeup to stand out, then the easiest way to do that is by creating dimensions. I basically involved using dark & light and shimmery & matte shades to create a 3D effect.

DON'T Over Blend
Blending is an important step while applying makeup. In fear of under-blending, many people end up over blending and the eyeshadow ends up looking patchy and uneven.
However, if you've ended up over-blending your eyeshadow, then you can easily hit the reset button and start with your lightest colour.

DO Wet Your Brush For Shimmery Shades
This hack is a life saver. If you feel like your glitter isn't depositing enough pigment, simply dampen your brush a little bit with a mist. Then, work the eyeshadow into a little paste. This will avoid patchiness and unpleasing glittery eyes.
DON'T Be Afraid To Experiment
Since the pandemic, makeup looks are all about above the mask. If you are scared to experiment, then you should put your fears to rest. Make your eyes stand out by choosing from different trends. Therefore, for an experiment.
