Face massage is known to boost the blood circulation in the facial muscles. The concept of facial massage has been used as a therapy in Ayurveda for various ailments since ancient times. Shahid Kapoor’s wife Mira Rajput Kapoor has also emphasised the importance of facial massage for glowing skin. She has also shared a video on her YouTube channel about facial massage. Here’s a 6-step facial massage routine that you can follow to ensure glowing skin. 

Prepping The Skin

The first and foremost step before doing the facial massage is prepping the skin. Tie your hair in a bun and cleanse your face thoroughly using lukewarm water. You can also consider steaming your face as it softens the pores and allows easy absorption of oil. Now apply a face serum based on your skin type and gently pat it on your face. 

Forehead Massage

Start the massage with your forehead area and place your index and middle fingers at the centre of your forehead. Move your hands in a circular motion and move them towards your temple. Repeat the process 5 times gently and slowly.

Eye Area

The eye area is the most sensitive part of our face and thus needs to be handled carefully. Using your ring finger, start from the inner corner and move outwards, then glide upwards near the eyebrows and repeat the process gently 5 times.

Cheek Area

Now position your fingers near your nose and gently push upwards towards your cheekbones, then move outwards towards your ears. Ensure the motion is uplifting. Repeat the process 5 times.

Mouth And Lips

Form a ‘V’ '-like shape from your index and middle finger. Gently place them around your lips and your index finger gently pushed towards your ears. Now massage (mira kapoor head massage) slowly for 5 times.

Start the massage from the middle of your chin and then use your fingers to massage in an upward motion towards your jawline.

Neck Massage 

Conclude the massage (facial exercises for a chiseled jawline) with the area around your neck. You can use a vertical stroke moving upwards from your collarbone towards your jawline.
