An eyeshadow palette is a must-have in your make-up kit. However, how your eyes look is heavily dependent on which type of eyeshadow you use. The final look will depend on the texture and pigmentation of the palette that you have used. We are quite familiar with powder and liquid eyeshadows, so we drew up a list of other textures you can add to your makeup kitty.
Loose Glitter Eyeshadow
Loose glitter eyeshadows are deeply pigmented. They are ideal for dramatic eye makeup, as they add an extra quotient of glam. The only downside is that it makes the skin dry. Hence, if you have flaky skin, you must be careful while using it, as it might cause your skin to wrinkle.
How To Apply
Since this eyeshadow has a dry texture, you must apply a primer before dabbing the colour on your eyelids. Primers also help the makeup last longer. You can also add a thin layer of concealer to create a neutral base before starting the makeup.
The eyeshadow has loose glitter; therefore, you have to be careful during the application. After you pick the eyeshadow using a flat brush, either blow on it or tap on the box to ensure the excess colour is removed. To get the intense look, you can first spray the brush with a setting spray and then pick up the eyeshadow.
Baked Eyeshadow
As the name suggests, the unique feature of its texture is that it is achieved by baking the colours in the oven. Most of the eyeshadows are otherwise made by pressing. Hence, when you see a baked eyeshadow, you will notice an extremely smooth texture, that’s easy to blend.
How To Apply
The best thing about baked eyeshadow colours is you can apply them both in dry and wet textures. If it is wet, you can achieve a dramatic look. If you are going for a ‘no makeup’ or ‘nude makeup’ look, you can apply dry eyeshadow.
Cream Eyeshadow
If you seek to achieve a look with intense colours on your eyes, cream eyeshadows are another good choice. They are available in tubes and pots. The only con is it creases easily.
They add a shiny finish to your makeup. Since they are not waterproof, we would suggest not using them in summer. They can easily melt in the sun and ruin your face. They also facilitate effortless blending.
How To Apply
With this eyeshadow, you must use a large synthetic makeup brush to achieve the perfect finish. It helps to pick the product and dust off the excess. You must be cautious while dabbing the brush on the palette because if you drag the brush, it can damage the colour.
You can either use your finger or an eyeshadow brush to blend the colour.
