Besides giving a natural tone to the hair, the henna mixture also reduces inflammations and relieves headaches. Naural henna will never give any other colour than natural orange-red. Organic Mehndi can never have dark brown to black colour, until and unless an artificial color is added to it. The allergic reaction usually appears in the pattern of the tattoo 7–14 days after first exposure," said Dr Manmohan Lohra, a Dermatologist at Columbia Asia Hospital.
