“There is a belief in Puranas that once Goddess Lakshmi went to Vaikuntha, she used a broom to clean the place and thus the broom came to be worshipped as Maa Lakshmi. But it is worshipped only on some special occasions and should not be kept in the place of worship on normal days,” said astrologer Sheetal.

Astrologer Sheetal said, “The broom should be kept in the southwest corner of your house and this place should be inside the house. Never keep the broom or mop in an open place so that the visitors do not see it.
