When Is Pitru Paksha, Start And End Dates

According to the Hindu calendar, the start date of Pitru Paksha will fall on Friday, the Pratipada date of Krishna Paksha of Ashwin month i.e. 29th September. And it will be ending on Amavasya Tithi on Saturday, 14th October. The beginning of Pitru Paksha is delayed by 15 days this year according to Vikram Samvat 2080 because of the Adhik Maas.

What Is Pind Daan Vidhi?

The Pind Daan Vidhi or the Shradh rituals are performed wearing only white clothes. The Pind Daan should be made with barley flour and worshipped with rice, raw yarn, flower garland, incense sticks and curd. Then, worship your ancestors and release the Pind Daan into the water. Keep in mind that the Shradh ritual should always be performed in the afternoon only.
