It is believed that by observing this fast the children do not suffer from any kind of disease and their life remains healthy and happy. Mothers observe this fast for the safety and long life of their children. This fast is especially a symbol of the faith and devotion of mothers. According to the Hindu Panchang, this fast is observed on the Ashtami Tithi of Krishna Paksha of Ashwin month. Astrologer Pandit Arvind Tripathi shared the date, time and rituals of this fast.

Jivitputrika Vrat Date And Time

According to the Vedic calendar, Jitiya Vrat will be observed on the Ashtami Tithi of Krishna Paksha of Ashwin month. This year, this fast will start on Tuesday, 24th September at 11:34 PM and will end on Wednesday, 25th September at 12:10 PM. Therefore, based on Udayatithi, Jitiya Vrat will be observed on 25th September.

Auspicious Time And Muhurat

Jitiya or Jivitputrika fast is considered very important for mothers (mother's day wishes). On this day, there is Labh Unnati Muhurta and Amrit-best Muhurta. In this Muhurta, Lord Jimutavahana is worshipped formally.

Labh-Unnati Muhurta – 06:11 am to 07:41 am.
Amrit-Savottam Muhurat- is from 07:41 am to 09:12 am.
