1. Red Lentils (Masoor Dal)
Dr Sahni said that offering red lentils to temples or to those in need, especially on Tuesdays, can pacify Mars. “Cooking and donating Masoor Dal Khichdi or giving raw lentils to the poor strengthens positive Mars energy,” he added.
2. Jaggery (Gur) and Gram (Chana)
“Donating jaggery and gram to animals, especially cows and monkeys, on Tuesdays is a very effective remedy. This is because Mars is associated with energy and aggression, and offering sweet food items helps neutralise its harsh impact,” shared the astrologer.
3. Copper Items And Red Flowers
Dr Virender mentioned, “Copper utensils should be offered in temples or to Brahmins. Drinking water in a copper vessel daily also helps in balancing Mangal's effects. Offering red roses, red hibiscus, or red sandalwood to Lord Hanuman on Tuesdays strengthens Mars in the horoscope.”
4. Sindoor (Vermilion) And Betel Leaves
Astrologer Sahni explained that applying Sindoor to Hanuman Ji and offering betel leaves (Paan) in temples helps reduce Mangal Dosh. He continued, “Hanuman Ji is a strong protector against Mars-related afflictions, and regular prayers to him can bring relief.”
5. Donate Red Clothes And Offer Red Flags
“Donating red clothes to the needy or offering a red flag in Hanuman temples strengthens beneficial Mars energy. Wearing red-coloured clothes on Tuesdays can also boost confidence and courage,” shared Dr Sahni.

6. Offering Wheat And Red Fruits
The astrologer said, “Donating wheat and pomegranates to temples or to the underprivileged is another way to neutralise negative Mars effects. These offerings should be done with a pure heart and devotion, ensuring the blessings of Mars.”
7. Sweet Rotis to Dogs And Cows
He said that if you feed sweetened chapatis (Rotis with jaggery) to dogs, cows, and bulls, it helps reduce the effects of Mangal Dosh. “Mars is connected with animals like bulls and dogs, and serving them calms its aggressive energy,” he added.
Mantras And Rituals to Reduce Mangal Dosh
- If you have Mangal Dosh in your horoscope, you must recite Hanuman Chalisa daily or at least on Tuesdays.
- Additionally, chanting “Om Angarakaya Namah” 108 times daily can also bring significant relief.
